FOR WOMEN:

Shabbos’ Women’s Tehillim: Please join together “virtually” this Shabbos afternoon, 6:00 to recite Tehillim. It is more important now than ever that our community comes together for this all important service. May HKB”H answer our tefillos speedily.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

As of this writing. press reports are rampant with an impending Israeli cease-fire. We pray (though realistically it is only a dream) that this will the last cease fire and the entire world including the violent Iranian regime will accept for once and for all the Jewish people’s inherent right to Eretz Yisroel.
This week’s Parshas Naso emphasizes the singularity of the Nasi of each tribe. The individual names are pronounced but the entire tribe is part of Klal Yisroel. This is our mission; to assert our individual personalities for the sake of the Kehilla. We must advocate for Israel even as we face adversity from a newly emboldened leftist (and rightest) agenda driven political class. Am Yisroel Chai.

Good Shabbos
Rabbi A. M. Abramson

REFUAH SH’LAIMAH:
To all those who are not well as well as those worldwide with this virus. We mention their names at each Torah reading and think about them in our private tefillos. Let Hashem hear our tefillos on their behalves, and all have a speedy recovery. If there is a choleh that needs a misheberach, please email their name to anshemotele@sbcglobal.net .
Since we are not currently making the Mishebarach at Torah readings, in your private shmone esrai, you can include in the “Refaeinu” paragraph a special tefilla for the cholim that you have in mind.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

Shavous commemorates the Mount Sinai encounter between Hashem, Moshe and the Jewish people. It also represents the culmination of the Passover Experience. That is why the Talmud refers to Shavous as Chag Hatzeres. The story of the enslavement by and the exodus from Egypt is the prerequisite for kabbalas Hatorah. Our freedom depends on servitude to Hashem through the mitzvot from Sinai and the opportunity of limud Hatorah. We pray that the events of these past few weeks in Israel shall quickly conclude with the world community understanding these very same ideals.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

The Mount Sinai experience as related in this weeks Parshas Behar emphasizes the importance of the minutia of Jewish law as revealed to Moses to be transmitted from generation to generation. This chain links us a Jewish people through the thousands of years of Jewish history and since the destruction of the Temple has been our foundation. When the tragedy at Meron occurred on Lag Bomer the entire country banded together to help. There was not an attempt to ignore the tragedy because the victims stemmed from the “ultra-orthodox.” There will be commissions and investigations that will recommend changes but for now our only reaction should be compassion and kindness. When the terrorist attacked the Dolphinarium discotheque in Tel Aviv the nation reacted similarly with revulsion, compassion, and unity. We, the Jews of the diaspora recognize the oneness of our people as we prepare to celebrate Yom Yerushalayim as one. Am Yisroel Chai.
Good Shabbos.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Yom Haatzmuet celebrations is how normal and routine it seems. Those of us who remember an earlier period of Israel’s growth today marvel at a country that was the first to be vaccinated and one of the major players in high tech and pharmaceuticals. Just as important every Yeshiva boy and girl yearn to go there to study, tour and grow spiritually and physically. Let the message of Israel’s Independence day continue to inspire us both politically and religiously with the hope that its founding and success will be the dawn of redemption.

Good Shabbos and Yom Haatzmuet Someach.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

Rashi in commenting on the Aharon’s silent reaction to the news of two of his sons deaths takes note of the fact that he was to be rewarded with a special and unique communication from Hashem. Later the Torah will relate that Hashem told Aharon alone (Moshe was only an observer) the importance of entering the Mikdash in a complete sanctified demeanor. At first glance it would seem to be of little consolation to one who lost children to just such an event. The message perhaps may be that only one who loses a loved one in such a fashion does indeed merit a singular dialogue so to speak with Hakodesh Baruch Hu.
We commemorate Yom Hashoa with the recognition and appreciation to those who perished AL Kiddush Hashem, and to the survivors who alone communicate with Hashem as they and we together with htem mourn their loss while commiting to enter the Kodesh Hakedoshim with purity of soul.

Good Shabbos

REFUAH SH’LAIMAH:
To all those who are not well as well as those worldwide with this virus. We mention their names at each Torah reading and think about them in our private tefillos. Let Hashem hear our tefillos on their behalves, and all have a speedy recovery. If there is a choleh that needs a misheberach, please email their name to anshemotele@sbcglobal.net .
Since we are not at shul with Torah readings, in your private shmone esrai, you can include in the “Refaeinu” paragraph a special tefilla for the cholim that you have in mind.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

It is ironic that the matzoh we eat on Pesach night commemorate both slavery and freedom at the same time. The Hagaddah tells us in its introduction at Ha Lachma Aniah that our ancestors ate matzoh as slaves in Egypt. The taskmasters would not allow their subordinates to wait for the dough to rise so they therefore were forced to bake hurriedly and eat the unleavened bread. Ensuant to this we read in the Hagaddah the famous Mishna of Rabban Gamliel that the matzoh celebrates freedom. The Bnei Yisroel were to leave Egypt immediately, and in taking their provisions, did not have time once again for the dough to rise. Perhaps this dichotomy identifies who we are as a people and why we have survived to this present day. On the one hand we relive our persecution and simultaneously take these identical symbols and dedicate them for a future filled with hope and perseverance May the matzoh this year inspire us to learn the lessons of history and dedicate ourselves to build a new generation steeped in hope, prayer and good deeds.

Next year In Jerusalem.
