Chanukah means dedication. Dedication of the Temple, of the Torah, the menorah, and the freedom to worship G-d in defiance of those who wish to destroy the Jewish people and our heritage. Thus we place the menorah in the public sphere to carry that view and message for all to see and hear. We look forward to the final rededication of the Temple speedily in our generation.
