¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

The threat of Amalek has as its roots the frontal assault as related in this week’s Maftir reading on this Shabbos Zachor. We of course read this passage in anticipation of Purim which celebrates the victory of the Jews of Persia over Haman the wicked who plotted to annihilate the Jews the world over. We must remember that Amalek demonstrated that through this frontal attack that the Jews may be vulnerable and only by attacking first and justifying later will the haters of Jews everywhere succeed. On this Elul when we Jews are experiencing frontal attacks in many venues; political, military, and organized militias we reinforce our belief in Hashem and recognize the importance of a strong Israel.

PURIM EVENTS: Wednesday March 20^th is Taanis Esther. After maariv at 7:30 we will read Megilas Esther and usher in Purim. Thursday morning we will have 2 minyanim, 6AM and 8:30 with Megila reading at both.

PURIM SEUDAH: Rabbi Abramson will be hosting our annual Purim Seudah, Thursday afternoon at 5PM RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please reserve with the Rabbi BEFORE SUNDAY MARCH 17 thru email rabbiabramson18@gmail.com or by phone 773-743-4449. $18 per person, $36 famly cap.
