Shabbos Schedule

FOR WOMEN:

Shabbos’ Women’s Tehillim: Please join together “virtually” this Shabbos afternoon, 4:00 to recite Tehillim. It is more important now than ever that our community comes together for this all important service. May HKB”H answer our tefillos speedily.

¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

Last shabbos at Mincha I had the privilege of laining the Torah portion. I must confess however that it was not as pleasant an experience as when I would do it in normal conditions. Wearing a mask my glasses fog up, I have a hard time seeing the words, pronouncing the cantillation, and even breathing properly. Sure enough I came across an article today in the Wall Street Journal written by Mike Kerrigan of Charlotte, North Carolina with the title, “The Fog of Worship With Face masks.” There he “kvetches” about the challenges of attending church with a face mask while trying to read the homily. In fact he had trouble even finding his seat in his socially distant pew. I recommend the article highly and if you ask I’ll forward you a copy. We who have made the effort to attend services understand full well the experience of masks and fog. At the same time we appreciate even being able to that. Ultimately Mr. Kerrigan concludes with the following, “I have never experienced the fog of war, but I have endured the fog of worship”. To which I say Amen!

Good Shabbos

REFUAH SH’LAIMAH:
To all those who are not well as well as those worldwide with this virus. We mention their names at each Torah reading and think about them in our private tefillos. Let Hashem hear our tefillos on their behalves, and all have a speedy recovery. If there is a choleh that needs a misheberach, please email their name to anshemotele@sbcglobal.net .
Since we are not at shul with Torah readings, in your private shmone esrai, you can include in the “Refaeinu” paragraph a special tefilla for the cholim that you have in mind.
