¨From the Rabbi’s Study¨

This Shabbos we celebrate our graduates. In their honor I should like to share a brief lesson from the mitzvah of the menorah the central motif of the opening to this week’s Parsha Behaaloscha.

The lighting of the menorah is symbolic of knowledge. The seven branches of wisdom correlate to the seven lights of the menorah. Torah is referred to as “OR” light. Every achievement in education as long as its aim is towards the central shaft of the candelabra represents the highest form of avodah and serves to illuminate the world. We partner with Hashem in these daily endeavors.

Mazel Tov to all our graduates.
Good Shabbos

Rabbi A. M. Abramson
